About

Jamia Masjid Al-Madina was established in 1976, following fundraising efforts to establish a mosque by Middlesbrough’s Pakistani residents. The mosque, which was Saint Michael’s Church, was purchased for £10,000 in 1975. Men and boys in the community, such as Ishy Din, Ghulam Chohan and others, supported the refurbishment process. Prior to its founding, local Muslims would pray in a makeshift mosque at 162 Grange Road.
