Part of the external British Ugandan Asian 50 oral history collection

About

Mayur Seta was a child when his family was expelled from Uganda and sent to the Stradishall Resettlement Camp in Suffolk, England in 1972/3. He reflects on these early experiences, as well as his later life in Britain, where he became a qualified accountant and joined the 'British Ugandan Asians at 50' team.

This interview was conducted as part of the 'British Ugandan Asians at 50' project, led by India Overseas Trust with the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project documents testimonies from residents and people who worked in the UK-based camps created for those expelled from Uganda in 1972.
